Hope Over Despair

Sermon Outline

FCF: Ignorance about the future leads people to despair in the present.

Big Idea: Because God promises that Jesus will return, hope is available for all who despair.

Paul gives the Thessalonians THREE reasons for HOPE in the second coming of Jesus:

1. When Jesus returns, the dead in Christ will rise to new life. (v. 13-14)

2. When Jesus returns, he will come in power and glory. (v. 15-16)

3. When Jesus returns, all who are in Christ will be with him forevermore! (v. 17-18)

Closing Proposition

Trust in Christ and his promised return.

He gives hope that will not disappoint!
